So, while the Squad were away competing at the RS Tera Nationals, we were busy with our final Race Academy weekend of 2016.
On Sunday afternoon to round off the course we had our own three race regatta. The fleet was slightly diminished with all the Teras being at Pwllheli, but this gave us some exciting and really close racing between the 8 boats we had on the water.
It is great to see a different winner for each race and plenty of position changes throughout the three race series. Some of the racing was really close – in Race 3 there was half a second difference between 2nd and 3rd on corrected time and 1 second between 3rd and 4th!! Which just goes to show, that even though the Taz might be way behind on the water they are still very much in the overall race.
Well done to Monty and Nickolas, the overall winners, and well done to everyone that took part. These Academy weekends have been really enjoyable and it has been great watching everyone progress over the course of this season.
