Teddy Dunn is still in the top 10 of the Gold Fleet at the RS Tera Worlds, with just one day of racing to go. He’s currently in 9th place overall. What a superb effort from the 13 year old, who has been training with the Manx Youth Sailing Squad for three years now.
Nickolas Ellis is still leading the Silver fleet at the RS Tera World Championship. Since the fleet has been split, the 11 year old has sailed a really consistent series, with all results (except the discard) in the top seven.
Archie Dunn also qualified for the Silver fleet. Last season this youngster was sailing in the Regatta fleet, with an average entry of around a dozen boats. He is now mixing it up with the big boys. He got a great mention on the RS Tera Live Videos, there we all were having lunch and Archie sailed by on the TV He’s certainly holding his own and should be really proud of his efforts, he is lying 20th at the moment.
Oscar Jackson is our only sailor in the Pro fleet. It is a huge jump from Sport to Pro and Oscar has not had much Pro time compared to many sailors in that fleet. We have seen improvement in every race, Oscar is now hanging on to the middle of the fleet, with results going up 20 places on average. He is now up to 53rd overall and I know he will be learning more and more with each race.
There is just one more day of racing tomorrow, so far these youngsters have sailed twelve races this week!
